Your safari to Kidepo National Park starts with a pickup from Entebbe International Airport, briefing and then embark on the journey via Gulu-Kitgum Road and may decide to have your lunch in Gulu town. Upon arrival, you will just check-in at your preferable lodge or hotel for dinner and sleepovers.
The next morning, you will have breakfast and then head into the park for a morning game drive to the ostrich farm. On this drive, you will get a chance to spot a lot of wildlife such as herds of elephants, cape buffaloes, giraffes, lions and then the hot springs at Kanangorok. You will also spot a variety of bird species such as the ostrich, Kori bustard, secretary bird, red throated bee eaters, the Abyssinian ground hornbill, Clapperton’s Francolin, Black Coucal, African Moustached and the Broad-tailed Warblers, Marsh Tchagra and Crimson-rumped Waxbill, Chestnut weaver, D’Arnaud’s barbet, Fox kestrel among others.
Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon after having your lunch, you will have a cultural experience that will bring you into contact with Karamojong people at Karenga and Kapedo. Meet the local elders and have an opportunity to interact with them. They will show you the kraals, the grinding stones and many more interesting items. Later meet your driver and return to the lodge for dinner and sleepovers.
The next morning after an early breakfast, you will be joined by an expert ranger guide for a nature walk to explore the park on foot away from the steel clad of safari car sharing his knowledge of the eco-system and also bring you closure to the animals such as buffaloes, giraffes among others and for birders, you will see birds such as Fox Kestrel, Eastern Chanting Goshawk, Grasshopper Buzzard, Montague’s Harrier, Fan Tailed Raven, rare Stone Partridge and many others. The afternoon is spent on relaxation and sightseeing around the lodge.

On your last day of this safari, you may decide to first have a morning game drive through the park, giving you a chance to see elephants, buffaloes, different kinds of antelopes towards Katarum gate making a stop at katarum kopje a site of the derelict lodge built in the rock though it is currently under renovation to have a bird eye view of the park. Later prepare yourself to embark on your journey back to Kampala for your late evening flight and that will mark the end of your Kidepo Valley Wildlife Safari.
